The Twin Cities area has much to offer the GLBT traveler. From Broadway-class theatre to world-class shopping, there truly is something for everyone. Minneapolis boasts one of the most extensive and beautiful urban park systems in the United States. The Mall of America has over 500 shops, an indoor theme park with two roller coasters and an underground aquarium. Over six Yankee Stadiums can fit inside the Mall.

Being "Out" in Minneapolis
Most areas of the Twin Cities and surrounding areas are very accepting of GLBT people. That being the case, caution is always advised. Although gay-bashing's are rare, they still happen, and only you can be responsible for your safety. The Loring Park neighborhood of Minneapolis tends to be the epicenter of gay life in the Twin Cities. The first local GLBT march, held in June 1972, was held in Loring Park. That march has evolved into the Pride Festival, which is still held in Loring Park. Many members of the community live and work in the Loring Park neighborhood. Most of the bars and nightclubs, however, are located in Downtown Minneapolis and Downtown Saint Paul.
