Basketball Courts • Loring Park
Participant Cost: $10
Spectator Cost: FREE
Unity Basketball - the Twin Cities' basketball league for the GLBT community and their friends - is hosting the first annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament at the Twin Cities Pride Festival this summer! Battle it out against the Twin Cities' best gay and lesbian ballers for the title of Pride Tournament Champion in a friendly and competitive environment. All games will begin at 11am or 12pm on Saturday, June 27 at the Loring Park courts, right in the heart of the festival!
There will be a Men’s and Women’s Division, with the goal of at least 8 teams in each division. Brackets can be adjusted for fewer or greater teams so that everyone interested can participate. Each team will be made up of three to four players who each must register individually. The games will go to 11 points by ones and twos.
Not interested in the tourney but still want to play some ball? Come to the courts at 10 a.m. to participate in the recreational shoot-around and pick-up games. All ages and skill levels are welcome.
At 11 a.m., you’ll have a chance to watch or compete in the 3-point and Horse challenges before the tournament kicks off. If you’re interested in participating in a skills challenge, contact Erik Borg via email or telephone at 612-719-6528.
