Executive Director
GLBT Pride/Twin Cities, the producers of the Twin Cities Pride Celebration, the third largest celebration in the USA, has an opportunity for a strong executive director to make a difference in the lives of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Minnesotans and their friends, families and allies. Lead GLBT Pride/Twin Cities into an expanded role in providing open and inclusive events that showcase the diversity of our community. Reporting to the President of the Board of Directors, you will set our development plan and priorities and work with the board to present a professional image to corporations, civic organizations, individual donors and foundations.

Position Overview

The Executive Director, is the public face of the corporation, meeting and developing contacts with corporate and civic leaders of the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area. Primarily, the Executive Director shall be responsible for a substantial increase in the development of funds for the corporation through corporate sponsorships, individual donors and foundation grants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement sponsorship relationship with major corporations. Specifically, to improve communication with and funding from current corporate sponsors and to negotiate high level sponsorship agreements with major corporation.
  • Identify and implement sponsorship relationships with civic and governmental organizations to offset costs associated with Celebration events.
  • Assist with the development of a Strategic Fundraising Plan.
  • Develop the annual fundraising plan.
  • Implement an Individual Donor Program.
  • Implement a planned giving and bequests program.
  • Identify and apply for appropriate grants.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Three or more year’s successful experience in nonprofit fundraising. Strong preference for demonstrated record in developing corporate sponsors for events.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills and professional, polished presentation skills.
  • Academic degree, or equivalent experience and accomplishment in this field.
  • Self motivation and flexibility, with a clear focus on results.
  • A commitment to GLBT Pride/Twin Cities’ mission and a willingness to advance our efforts.
  • Knowledge of current GLBT-related issues.
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to work well within and outside the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender communities as an advocate for social change.
  • Comfort working with persons from diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, socioeconomic and religious backgrounds.

 

This is a part time (20 hours per week) position.  Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience and education. Finalist may be subject to criminal and credit background check. GLBT Pride/Twin Cities is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
