Images and Stories from the Trans* Community
Curated by Andrea Jenkins
Featuring photography by Shiraz Mukarram and Visible Bodies: Transgender Narratives Retold
The Trans* and Gender Non-Conforming community has long been one of the most marginalized, feared and discriminated communities in our society. With the SCOTUS ruling of equal marriage for all United States Citizens irrespective of gender, it is clear that we are moving towards a more equitable society. However Trans-identified individuals continue to navigate dangerous and outright hostile territories.
VisibiliT features photographs by Shiraz Mukarram that impressionistically document elements of the Trans* and gender non-conforming community.
